Audi is planning the introduction of the RS3 Sedan in the United States which will sit above the current S3 and will be the new range-topping version of the model.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is going to get a serious competitor in the near future in the shape of the Audi RS3 Sedan. The model in question is currently available in Europe only, in the five-door Sportback body style, but it will be introduced in the United States too, in a new version, a sedan. This will be similar in design with the current Audi S3 Sedan but it will stand out thanks to a more aggressive body style, to a different exhaust finish and to the new wheel designs. Let?s not forget the RS3 badging on the outside and in the cabin too, along with other tweaks made to the interior.
As far as the engine lineup goes, the 2.5 liter five-cylinder turbocharged unit will be carried over and this will be producing a total output of 367 HP (270 kW) and 465 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque, connected to a 7-speed S tronic transmission, which will send power to the Quattro all-wheel drive system. The RS3 Sportback needs 4.3 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill and it has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) or 280 km/h (174 mph), for some extra cash. The RS3 Sedan should get a similar performance.
